Electric vehicle battery prices are expected to fall almost 50% by 2026

Goldman Sachs has just released a report indicating (through their research) that they forecast global battery prices to decline by almost 50% in 2026 (from 2023 prices). 

Pricing

2022 - $153 per kilowatt-hour (kWh)

2023 - $149/kWh

2024 est - $111/kWh

2026 est - $80/kWh

They believe that at this pricing level, electric vehicles ownership will be on a cost parity with petrol fueled cars in the US (on an unsubsidised basis).
